Metaplanet, a Tokyo-based company, has issued ¥2.25 billion ($15 million) in zero-interest ordinary bonds to purchase additional Bitcoin. The unsecured, non-interest-bearing bonds will mature in November 2025, according to company filings from Metaplanet_JP.
This debt-funded strategy is aimed at expanding Metaplanet's Bitcoin reserves, following a recent acquisition of 1,241 BTC. The company's current holdings stand at 6,796 BTC, with a stated goal of reaching 10,000 BTC by the end of the year.
