The crypto market showed signs of a cooldown on Monday, September 28. Both Bitcoin and Ethereum registered a 2% drop, yet three altcoins moved the other way in dramatic fashion.
Quant (QNT), Bitway (BTW), and XDC Network (XDC) topped CoinGecko’s 24-hour crypto gainers among the top 100 coins. Each moved for a different reason.
Quant Extends Its Bank-Backed Run
Quant was Monday’s top gainer, rising 32.85% to $238.2 at press time. The altcoin stretched its weekly gain to 260%.
BeInCrypto covered that the rally began on September 24, when The Clearing House picked Quant to run its US tokenized deposit network. The Clearing House is owned by 25 of the largest US banks. The network is due to open in the first half of 2027.
In addition, UK banks including Barclays, HSBC UK, and NatWest completed live tokenized sterling payments on Quant’s platform the same day. Even after the run, QNT trades about 47% below its September 2021 record of $427.42.
Bitway Sets a Record High
Bitway, a Bitcoin-focused layer-1, climbed 28.3% to $1.38 and printed an all-time high of $1.43 early on Monday. That lifts its weekly gain to 75% and its market cap to $3.7 billion.
No listing or protocol announcement surfaced on Monday to explain the jump. The nearest live driver is Bitway Booster Season 5, a Binance Wallet campaign running until October 2.
The move could also be part of a broader altcoin rotation. Blockchain Center’s Altcoin Season Index read 59 on Monday, in neutral territory but well above the sub-25 levels seen in July. The index last flipped out of Bitcoin Season on September 2.
BeInCrypto named BTW the third week’s top gainer earlier this month but flagged weak breakout volume.
XDC Network Rides Sibos and Validator News
XDC had gained 11.66% over the past 24 hours to trade at $0.034 at press time. The altcoin has risen 20% in the past week.
Monday marks the opening of Sibos in Miami, the SWIFT-run banking conference that runs through October 1. Teams from XDC Network and Contour, a trade-finance network built on XDC, will be at the event, the network said on X.
Recent validator additions also feed the move. South Korean custody firm DSRV joined XDC as a masternode validator on September 18. Belgian tokenization firm SettleMint took the same role in June. In July, XDC launched XDC AI, a marketplace where AI agents pay for services in USDC.
Each rally now faces its own test within days. Bitway’s Booster campaign ends on October 2, while XDC’s Sibos window closes on October 1.
Quant has the firmest backing of the three. Even so, The Clearing House network will not open until 2027, so the price is running well ahead of live volume. All three also need the wider market to stop falling.
