Online brokerage eToro said it is broadening its 24-hours-a-day, five-days-a-week service to cover about 100 U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds, widening a feature previously limited to a smaller set of securities.
The company also plans to issue tokenized versions of those equities on the Ethereum blockchain as ERC-20 tokens. Customers will be able to exchange the digital tokens for the underlying shares on eToro’s platform, a structure the firm says links traditional markets with decentralised finance.
